 5th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance-

WOW! WHAT A NIGHT!

This spectacular dance would not be without our generous sponsors. Please support the sponsors below when you are in need of their services.

Many, many thanks to our major financial sponsors each donating $500 or more: Edward Jones Investments-Don & Steve McClelland; Earl Bacon Insurance Agency; Gilday, Tucker, Shwartz & Simpson, PA; and Hobkirk Enterprises Towing & Recovery

Also, many thanks to our most major in-kind sponsors, each donating the equivalent in goods and service of $500 or more: Action Attraction, Happy Trails Ranch, Harvest Printing, Ron Sachs Communication, Star 98.9, and The Moon.

We have many levels of sponsorship. Please contact Sondra Brown at (850) 514-6243 or DrBrownie@comcast.net if you or a business that you know is interested in helping or being a sponsor.

And many, many thanks to our celebrity sponsors: Dee Crumpler, Director of Parks and Recreation, Jackie Pons, Leon County School Board Superintendent; Bob Gabordi, General Editor of the Tallahassee Democrat; and Mayor John Marks and Mrs. Jane Marks. These people believe in us and help to make this dance a success by lending us their names and support. Thank them and tell them how much you enjoyed the event if you see them!

The 5th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance held on February 6, 2010 was a resounding success with a sellout crowd of over 900 happy fathers and daughter dancing the night away and netting $13,500 for Rotary charities! Mayor John Marks and his lovely wife Jane welcomed the throngs and encouraged all to “trip the light fantastic.” Everyone enjoyed the dance lessons and graceful dance exhibitions by Darian Chandler and his partner, wife Tiffany Chandler from Fred Astair Studio and Raina Reinstein who is an amazing dancer at eight years old. Sears Photo Studio got that perfect shot on stage while Rick Ferrall and Leila Shuffler snapped those candid photos. (The candid photos & video will be posted on this web site soon so check back.)

There were many special door prizes such as one week summer camp and a birthday party for ten at Happy Trails Ranch, an FSU package for Dad’s that included an autographed basketball by FSU/NBA star Charlie Ward, a daddy/daughter pencil portrait by artist Leila Shuffler, a gift basket that included haircut, facial, products by A Touch of Class, facials and pedicures by Tallahassee Chic Salon, gift certificates by Applebee’s and Julie’s Place, a computer and more! We even gave a prize for the “Oldest Dad” (87), “Youngest Daughter” (3 months) and the “Dad Who Brought the Most Girls.”

Save the Date for next dance on February 5, 2011. Keep an eye on this web site for information. This IS where all updates and online ticket sales will be. Also, please don’t delay purchasing tickets next year. This year was a sellout and we did have some disappointed dad and daughters who waited until the last day to buy and couldn’t get tickets.

Finally, thank you for supporting and continually enjoying this wonderful charity event dedicated to the bond between a father and his girls. YOU are what make this such a fantastic event. We are thrilled that you are putting us on the map and are helping us grow! We welcome your comments and ideas so feel free to share them with us on this site.

Dr. Brian Sheedy, President, Tallahassee Northside Rotary Club.
